September 11                 Valley Vettes Meeting
Thursday                        Club Photo Night

5:00pm Line up cars
6:00pm Photo

If you are able to participate, please park along the sidewalk area for staging when you first arrive. Several of the officers will be there early to arrange the cars in a predefined format. Rick Janos will design a plan to take advantage of year and color. Once assembled, the members will congregate at the front of the cars much the same way as the last photo in 2005.
As we're doing this much earlier than the previous attempt, we expect that many may not have time for dinner. Consequently, we're working with the WAVE to provide a limited menu to order from after completing the photo session. Rather than order at the bar, we will occupy the meeting room and order and be served at that location. Obviously, this is strictly voluntary.

The regular meeting will immediately follow dinner and it might even be possible that we could make an early evening of the event.
Marty

September 1-5         2009 Caravan and 15th Anniversary Celebration
                      National Corvette Museum
Corvettes will depart from several locations nation wide all heading for Bowling Green   Corvette enthusiasts enjoying their cars for which Chevrolet intended on the open road. Meeting new people along the way and forging friendships to last a lifetime.  Several Captains have been working to get their portion of the event planed for a fun filled cruise across the country.  Caravans will depart late August and early September 2009, to arrive for the National Corvette Museum 's 15th Anniversary Celebration on September 3-5, 2009.
This is the 4th caravan to assemble at Bowling Green and Thousands are expected to attend this Labor Day event. What a better way to pay tribute to the week end then to enjoy the car that lives the American dream.  The Corvette was the dream car of my youth and I can only guess, but the dream car of several of you also.

Valley Vettes has the distinct honor of have a 2009 Grand Caravan Captain as part of our Club.
Ivan Schrodt will be the Wisconsin Captain and is in charge of planning and organizing the route from Wisconsin to Bowling Green .  I am proud to have someone with such passion and drive as part of our club.  The unfortunate part of having Ivan as a Captain is the Valley Vettes will have to do our own  planning to meet up with the Grand Caravan. Ivan will be so busy with his duties that we will require our own Host or team of Hosts to plan club participation. Having an insider with in our club should be helpful in getting accurate information for planning.  This caravan will mark the National Corvette Museum 's 15th Anniversary and will host the Grand opening of the Museums expansion. In fifteen years the Museum has grown from a dream to a place dreams are made and memories forged forever.
The National Corvette Museums web site includes interactive maps and specific Caravan information. This promises to be a must attend event for the Corvette enthusiast.
